The Cat Goddess and solar deity linked with fertility, childbirth and perfume. Widely adored in Egypt, she was thought to be able to shield women and property from misfortune and was seen as the custodian of love. In Egyptian Heterography he is depicted as a cat or a woman with a cat's head and was believed to be the protector of Lower Egypt.
