Captured mid-step in a dance of grace, movement, spirit and liberation, Aurelia reaches heavenward.
Perhaps it was this sense of liberation that moved me to produce my very first piece of bronze sculpture.
Aurelia was first started in Manchester in 1985, then abandoned, then underwent a second attempt in Paris in 1986, sustained several moves (including damage) and when she finally returned from the Parisian foundry, her completed form represented at least 400 hours of work.
